Project ECHO

CHI St. Gabriel’s is a part of University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO e-learning model with a goal of educating other rural clinics on opioid and controlled substance topics through multi-point videoconferencing to conduct virtual clinics with community providers.
CHI St. Gabriel’s Family Medical Center clinic will be the “hub” in the ECHO hub-and-spoke e-learning model and will provide specialized education and collaborative case management for participating clinics–the “spokes” across Minnesota and other states. The Family Medical Center will host weekly virtual teleconferences, which include presentations on a variety of opioid and controlled substance topics such as prescribing practices, community collaboration, pharmacological and physiological effects of prescribed and illicit substances, and buprenorphine clinics in the primary care setting.
